Research Programmes in Progress:

The project “CROSSBORDER RESEARCH AND TRAINING
ACTIVITIES AND INTRODUCTION OF TECHNOLOGICAL INNOVATIONS IN THE
SERVICES FOR THE PREVENTION AND CONTROL OF VIOLENCE AGAINST
JUVENILES”, which is part of the European Union Initiative INTERREG
IIIA GREECE – CYPRUS 2000-2006 is still in progress under the
scientific guidance of the Assistant Professor Stratos Georgoulas.
Completed Research Programmes:
- Research on the Prevention of juvenile delinquency, conducted by the
Florida State University (JJEEP project), financed by the state
government of Florida and supported by a Fulbright scholarship Programme.
- Research on the prevention of juvenile delinquency in Canada,
supported by the Faculty Enrichment Program - Canadian Government
scholarship and carried out by the University of Toronto - Canada
- Research titled «Self-evaluation» (in cooperation with the
Laboratory of Sociology and Training of the Pedagogical Department
of the University of Patras and with the participation of
Universities of Germany, England, Portugal, Czechoslovakia and
Romania, as well as the European Union).
- Archimedes 2003-5. Study and prevention of juvenile delinquency
in Greece
(in cooperation with the Department of Social Work of the
Technological Institution of Athens).
- Iapasis Research Project “Does Implementation Matter : Informal
administration practices
and shifting immigrant strategies in four Member States” (in
cooperation with KEKMOKOP – Centre for Social Morphology and Social
Policy of Panteion University, with the participation of three more
Universities of Germany, England and Italy, as well as of the
European Union).
- EPEP « Alcohol consumption trends concerning the student
population of the University of the Aegean and correlation with
leisure, performance and possible deviant behaviour –
Empirical pilot research in University departments of Lesvos»
